Berks County Readers Kids Book Share Update!
- Take a Free Book
- Donate Old Books
Thanks to our friends at Homecare Solutions, we now have cleaned the old Berks Real Estate Weekly Boxes and are ready to design and print our own stickers so that we can get these boxes set up around town!
In the meantime, there are boxes set up at these places:
- So Good Soups – Shillington Farmers Market
- Skin Sanctuary Spa – West Lawn
- Thanx Hair Salon – Exeter
- Weaver’s Orchard – Mohnton
- So Good Soups – Fairgrounds Farmers Market
- Hay Creek Snack Shack – Birdsboro
- Auntie Anne’s – Elverson (inside Walmart)
The good news is that we have had over 600 books already donated and in circulation (and we haven’t even put our awesome re-purposed BREW boxes out in the community yet!)
The bad news is that we need about 200-300 more books in inventory in the next week or so to fill the Brew boxes before placing them out in the community. EMPLOYERS – if your company is willing to send a memo around asking for a used children’s books to be donated in the lobby for Teachers in the Parks Book Share, we would greatly appreciate it! You can call Heather Brady when you have a box ready to pick up at 484-336-3299 or send her an email: email@example.com.
Thank you all for your love and support! Don’t forget to join our Berks County Readers Book Share Facebook Group: www.facebook.com/groups/BerksCountyReaders
All this hard work and collaboration from some amazing community members and sponsors is worth it when you see these smiles on the kids! 😊
A SUPER Special Thanks to…
Homecare Solution for cleaning our BREW boxes! Give Branden a call (484-509-7197) if you need any power washing or indoor cleaning. He cleaned our boxes at no charge, and we cannot THANK HIM ENOUGH!!!
1-800 Got Junk local owner Nathan is helping us when the time comes to set up our boxes around town again at no charge in his free time! This is amazing since the boxes are heavy and way too big to throw in the back our car. If you are looking to clear out some junk in preparation for Back to School – give 1800 Got Junk a call and tell them that Nathan in Berks County PA is the best!
Empire Surplus for storing our second round of BREW boxes for us while we clean up, decorate, and distribute the first round. Empire Surplus has the largest inventory of discounted building supplies in Berks County! If you haven’t visited their showroom of Rt 183 in Leesport, you are paying too much for your home goods, building supplies, and furniture!
The Reading-Berks Relators Association for the donation of the BREW Boxes! What a fun and fabulous community project this has turned out to be! Thank you for cheering on Do It Local and all our crazy ideas to bring our community closer together to promote # LOCALS HELPING LOCALS! Save the Date for October 12th for their very first 5K to support Habitat for Humanity and local homeownership! Visit their website for details.
